Ice Coffee #1
When you love coffee, like me, the presence of spring and hotter weather equals cravings for ice coffee. I usually drink one cup of coffee every day. In the morning. Under my duvet, in my pajamas. A perfectly made latte to accompany my breakfast. Morning rituals are important to me, and the coffee is my favourite part of it. During autumn and winter it’s easy to not over indulge in coffee, but come spring everything changes. Ice coffee is too good to say no to, and working from home it’s so easy (and cheap) to make your own.
I’m going to share quite a few recipes for different kinds of ice coffee with you throughout the summer, and starting out is this very simple ice latte. If you prefer black coffee you can make this with french press instead, it tastes just as good! For this recipe I have prepared coffee ice cubes, because I find it terribly annoying to have my coffee diluted with water, so whenever I have leftover coffee I pour it into an ice cube tray, ready for my next ice coffee. If you think it’s too much work, regular ice cubes work just as good!
What you’ll need is
3 big coffee ice cubes
Double shot of espresso
Big glass, or glass jar if you want to bring it with you
Put the ice cubes into your glass, pour the coffee over it and top it off with milk, depending on how much you would like. Stir, and drink! The good thing is that you don’t really have to wait for your coffee to become cold, that would be too much prep work for me, and it works perfectly fine because everything else is cold. The coffee ice cubes are the real magic to this recipe, which is ridiculously simple. A little trick that I thought you should know because I bet that many of you, like me, are always annoyed with how watery the last bit of your ice coffee is. If you want it a bit sweeter, you can add sugar sirup, I just like mine without!
I have a little coffee colored house guest these days, and she was sleeping next to me all throughout the shoot for this recipe. Her name is Luna, and she is my little fox friend!
Get out in the sun, grab a portable home made ice coffee and enjoy.
